One of the first releases by Luxury Elite considered to be a full, finished work was 101.7 Wave. A collection of short loops and glimpses into the sampling thoughts that went behind a project which ended up defining the course of many avenues of vaporwave for the next decade. Even at this point in her career, there is still the same wistful love for an era of kitsch, glamour, and skylines beyond the line of sight.

While originally issued on physical as a treat to go alongside the re-release of its successor, 101.7 Wave II, we’ve seen that there is just as much respect from the whole scene for the influence that this artist has had on all of us, and on the broader scope of the music surrounding it. A respect for a vision that inspired others, one that itself had became a sort of touchstone for nostalgia. Just as the material it was based on had been for the creator.
