Introspective and experimental
Fan Fiordo, from Buenos Aires, creates original and personal compositions that resonate deeply with listeners. Starting his musical journey at 13, he initially played drums in rock bands but shifted to guitar, where he discovered his passion for composing. Influenced by vaporwave and plunderphonics artists like Luxury Elite, Eccojams, 猫 シ Corp 96, ESPRIT 空想, among others. Fan Fiordo describes his music as post-vaporwave, which is his personal take on the genre without using samples. His albums Interactive Affairs and Chameleonic Pleasures laid the foundation for his unique sound, which continues in his third album, Comfort / Interior. This album explores inner peace and comfort, with cover art depicting a metaphorical comfortable habitat.
Fan Fiordo loves the sounds of late 80s digital synthesizers such as the Roland D-50 and the more budget-friendly Kawai K4. He makes no distinction between using real instruments or software. His creative process begins as a jam session with himself, which he then meticulously edits to shape those endless jams into finished tracks.
Fan Fiordo’s music is introspective and experimental, reflecting on individualism. He personally handles all aspects of his music, from composition to mixing. The nighttime recording sessions give Comfort / Interior a distinct sound, best enjoyed at night. Currently, he is exploring more upbeat and danceable tracks and plans to perform live with guest musicians.
