Inspired by the book series "The Hyperion Cantos" by Dan Simmons. Empire of Light, with its monotone drones, deals with the ending of an dying species; only to be reborn - or reuploaded - someplace else.

"After finishing Building a Better World with t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者, I felt it was time to move away from utopian ambient and into something new. Empire of Light is inspired by classic and modern sci-fi with a (pseudo) religious undertone, asking questions about immortality, belief, and humanity’s future in deep space. If you want to know more about these topics I suggest reading all four books in the Hyperion Cantos written by Dan Simmons, they had a major influence on the album’s concept.

However, the creation of this album has not been without any problems. Unfortunately, somehow along the way half of the project files got corrupted and therefore those tracks were never editable again. It may have taken some time to finally officially release Empire of Light - as it was already completed in 2021, but I am happy it is out there!" - 猫シ Corp.

From The Netherlands, 猫シ Corp. is an influential figure in the vaporwave and mallsoft genres, active since 2013. This shift has drawn listeners into dreamlike environments and futuristic spaces, merging ambient soundscapes with vaporwave’s nostalgic core and establishing 猫シ Corp.’s place in the ambient music landscape.

Now in 2025 猫シ Corp. released space-ambient album ‘Blueberries on Mars’ with a special remix version, and ‘Hiraeth: The Ambient Works’ … with even more new projects to come!
